About Me

Azdamine

If you’re not familiar with me, my name is Azdamine, and I write reviews and analyses on video games. I’ve played a decent amount of most genres, but I tend to gravitate towards Metroidvanias, Action games, JRPGs, Arcade racers, and Puzzle games.

My game design philosophy is pretty robust, but I’m always looking to flesh it out further. I tend to divide game design topics into four main groups: Systems Design, Challenge Design, User Experience, and Game Feel, though topics can and often do bleed from one group into another.

Active Frames is a blog for me to formalize my thoughts on a variety of such topics. My aim is to discover insight into under-discussed and under-explored concepts in game design, as well as to communicate my philosophy, provide clear and unambiguous explanations for my ideas, and defend those ideas as rigorously as possible.

I hope you’ll join me.
